     (a)  The magistrate of each municipality in the Yap Islands shall be responsible for maintaining correct records of all births, deaths, adoptions, changes of residence, name changes, marriages, divorces, and population increases within his municipality. 
     (b)  The magistrate of each municipality in the Yap Islands shall, on the first Monday of each month, turn over any report which he has received during that month to the Governor.

     (a)  The mother of every newborn child shall report the birth to the magistrate of her municipality within 30 days after the child is delivered. 
     (b)  It shall be the responsibility of the nearest kin or successor of a deceased person to report the death within 30 days after the death.

     Any legal resident of the Yap Islands 
      who adopts a child shall report such adoption to the magistrate of his 
      municipality within 60 days after final declaration of such 
      adoption.

     Any legal resident of the Yap Island 
      who intends to change his or her place of residence to become a member, 
      for more than one year, of a household, village, island, or state other 
      than the one in which he or she is currently a legal resident, shall 
      notify the magistrate of the municipality in which he or she is currently 
      residing not later than 30 days after such residence is 
      changed.

     Within 30 days after the proclamation 
      of a marriage or divorce, both husband and wife shall notify the 
      magistrate of the municipality in which they reside of the 
      event.

     Any legal resident of the Yap Islands 
      who changes his name shall notify the magistrate of his municipality 
      within 30 days after the name is changed.

     The secretaries in the Outer Islands 
      shall be responsible to see that correct records of births, deaths, 
      adoptions, changes of residence, name changes, marriages, divorces, and 
      population increases and decreases occurring within his atoll or island 
      are sent periodically to the Governor.  To this end each secretary 
      may work in cooperation with the public health worker on his island or 
      atoll.
