§ 1101.  Definition.

     § 1101.  Definition.
     For purposes of this Chapter, "boards and commissions" shall include boards, commissions, councils, committees, and other bodies; provided, however, that all such boards, commissions, councils, committees, and other bodies shall be established by Truk District Chuuk State law, and not by resolution of the Truk District Chuuk State Legislature.  Specifically excluded from the operation of this Chapter are:

     (1)  The Budget Committee of the Truk District Chuuk State Legislature;

     (2)  Special Committees of the Truk District Chuuk State Legislature;

     (3)  Standing Committees of the Truk District Chuuk State Legislature;

     (4)  Any board or commission which receives or is authorized to receive appropriations, which appropriations include monies for the compensation of members; and

     (5)  Any board or commission created by a law which specifies that the members shall serve without compensation or at a compensation different from the compensation established by this Chapter.

     § 1102.  Compensation.
     Members of boards and commissions shall be entitled to receive the sum of five dollars for each meeting day for which they are in attendance, which sum shall be in lieu of all other payment; provided, however, that those members who are government employees and who attend meetings during their regular hours shall not be entitled to any payment other than their regular salaries.

     § 1103.  Limitation.
     Members of boards and commissions shall be eligible to receive the payments herein established only for the first ten meeting days of any fiscal year.

     § 1104.  Payments to legislators.  
     Members of the Truk District Chuuk State Legislature who serve as members of boards and commissions shall receive payments as herein established. , but shall not be entitled to receive compensation or per diem for such service pursuant to Chapter 5 of Title 21 of the Truk District Code.

     § 1105.  Administration.
     The presiding officer or chairman of each board and commission shall certify to the District Treasurer State Director of the Treasury the members of the board or commission entitled to payments pursuant to this Chapter, and the amount of money to which each such member is entitled.  The District Treasurer State Director of the Treasury, upon such certification, shall disburse such sums to the people entitled thereto.

     § 1106.  Authorization of appropriations.
     There is hereby authorized an annual appropriation out of the General Fund of the Truk District Legislature Chuuk State, not otherwise appropriated, of such sum as the Legislature deems necessary to carry out the provisions of this Chapter.
